This autumn, the Paris art calendar will welcome a new addition with the launch of Spera, an urban and contemporary art fair set to debut in Montrouge from October 2 to 5, 2025. Marking its inaugural edition, the event aims to establish itself as a fresh platform within the region’s growing ecosystem of urban art fairs, while offering a format that places equal emphasis on exhibition, accessibility, and direct engagement between artists, galleries, collectors, and wider audiences.
Hosted at the Beffroi de Montrouge, Spera enters a cultural landscape where urban art has already secured a strong presence, joining established events such as District 13 and Urban Art Fair. Rather than simply replicating existing models, the fair positions itself as a more immersive experience, one designed to encourage encounters, conversations, and a closer connection between contemporary artistic practices and the public.
The first edition will also highlight Brazil as its featured country, aligning with the broader cultural spotlight currently placed on Brazilian creativity in France. This focus introduces an international dimension to the fair from its outset, signaling an ambition to connect local audiences with wider global urban art narratives.
The program unfolds over four days, beginning with a dedicated opening day for press and invited guests. Friday morning will shift attention toward community engagement, with access reserved for schools, associations, and organizations working with elderly visitors and people with disabilities, a gesture that reflects the fair’s intention to position accessibility as part of its founding identity rather than an afterthought. Public access will begin later that same day and continue through the weekend.

With its first edition, Spera arrives not only as a new event on the Paris-region cultural map, but as an attempt to rethink how urban and contemporary art fairs can function, less as purely commercial showcases, and more as spaces for exchange, discovery, and broader participation.
