FC Augsburg has found its latest football shirt in an unexpected piece of local history: the loom.

The club’s new third shirt for the 2026/27 season draws from Augsburg’s long relationship with textile production, translating a chapter of the city’s industrial past into a football jersey with a distinctly woven character.

A$AP Rocky is taking his latest design language to the football pitch, even if the pitch itself will never see these shirts in a competitive match.

Football shirts have long existed somewhere between uniform and cultural artifact. In recent years, that space has grown considerably. Away and third kits, in particular, have become places where clubs, designers and sportswear brands can take greater liberties, introducing colours, symbols and references that would rarely find their way onto the traditional home shirt.

Everton has stepped outside its familiar blue territory for the club’s new 2026/27 third kit, created with Castore in a colour scheme that gives the Toffees a noticeably different presence for the season ahead.
