Balenciaga has transformed the restless energy of Manhattan into the backdrop for its new Fall 2026 campaign, A New York Minute: Keep Rolling, a cinematic project that blurs the boundaries between fashion film, behind-the-scenes realism, and scripted narrative.
Bringing together Oscar-nominated filmmaker Celine Song, actor Sarah Pidgeon, and Balenciaga creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli for the first time, the campaign approaches luxury fashion through the rhythm and unpredictability of city life.

Structured as a trilogy of one-minute films, the campaign follows Pidgeon weaving through New York’s crowded streets, capturing fragments of movement, tension, and fleeting urban encounters. Rather than presenting polished fantasy detached from reality, the films lean into the city’s chaotic immediacy, positioning Balenciaga’s latest collection within an environment that feels recognizably lived-in.
The wardrobe reflects this tension between functionality and refinement. Technical separates, sculptural outerwear, and the house’s Jet sneakers appear alongside accessories including the Le City, Le 7 Bowling, and Rodeo bags, while footwear from the ongoing collaboration with Manolo Blahnik introduces a sharper elegance into the otherwise kinetic styling. The result feels intentionally hybrid, part commuter uniform, part fashion performance.

What gives the campaign its most compelling dimension, however, is its self-awareness. Throughout the films, the illusion periodically fractures as the camera pulls back to reveal lighting rigs, production crews, and the mechanics of filmmaking itself. Song’s repeated instruction to “keep rolling” becomes both a literal direction and a thematic thread, reinforcing the sense of motion, spontaneity, and perpetual performance that defines both New York and contemporary fashion imagery.
The project extends beyond traditional campaign formats through a secondary Instagram account, where behind-the-scenes footage captured by Piccioli offers a more informal, fragmented perspective on the production. This additional layer further dissolves the boundary between campaign and documentation, polished fiction and casual observation.
With A New York Minute: Keep Rolling, Balenciaga avoids static luxury imagery in favor of something more fluid and cinematic, a portrait of fashion embedded directly within the velocity of urban life.
